Vermont Ave Harbor City, CA 90710 RE: The tariff classification of a dietary supplement from Malaysia Dear Ms. Ho: In your letter dated April 21, 2010, on behalf of Billion Venture International, El Monte, CA, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The product is described as a human dietary supplement consisting of capsules filled with 480 milligrams of the powdered inner bark of a tree commonly known as “lapacho”(Tabeuia avellenedae). The capsules will be imported in a bottle containing 60 capsules, with a suggested dosage of one to five capsules, twice a day. The applicable subheading for this product will be 2106.90.9998, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for food preparations not elsewhere specified or included…other…other…other. The rate of duty will be 6.4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
