Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of rubber door stops from Taiwan Dear Ms. Pendris: In your letter dated April 14, 2010, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample submitted with your request, identified as item 68470, is a wedge style door stop measuring approximately 6 ¼ inches in length by 2 ¾ inches in width. It incorporates a hanging hook at the top so that it can be hung on a door knob when not in use. The door stop is a general purpose article of a type used in offices, workshops, garages and homes to prop a door open. The stopper is made of natural rubber and is packaged in sets of two. The sample is being returned as you requested. The applicable subheading for the rubber door stop will be 4016.99.3500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other articles of vulcanized rubber other than hard rubber: other: of natural rubber: other. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
