The hood can be attached to any golf bag. This product will be sold to golf shops in the USA and Canada. The applicable subheading for the Dry Hood will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7% ad valorem. You suggested that this item be classified under subheading 9506.39.0080, HTSUS, which provides for parts and accessories for golf clubs. However, the Dry Hood does not directly act on a golf club’s or golf ball’s operation and therefore does not rise to the level of an accessory for golf clubs or equipment. It merely protects the clubs in the rain. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
