Box 8006 Midland, TX 79708 RE: The tariff classification of Citril from Mexico Dear Mr. Eggemeyer: In your letter dated January 15, 2010 you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your descriptive literature describes Citril as an automatic dish washer detergent additive containing citric acid. Your letter states that Citril removes hard water spots and film from dishes, glassware and the dishwasher. You state that your product will be imported in bulk quantities. The applicable subheading for Citril will be 3402.90.5050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Organic surface-active agents (other than soap); surface- active preparations, washing preparations (including auxiliary washing preparation) and cleaning preparations, whether or not containing soap, other than those of heading 3401: Other: Other: Other: Other. The rate of duty will be 3.7 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
