The subject merchandise is described as a shortening. The shortening consists of 99.0 percent of fully refined Palm oil and its fractions and less than 100 ppm of BHA and BHT antioxidants. The product is used as a fat ingredient in the preparation of dough for a variety of baked goods. The applicable subheading for the Palm Shortening USC will be 1517.90.9090, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Margarine; edible mixtures or preparations of animal or vegetable fats or oils or of fractions of different fats or oils of this chapter...other...other...other...other. The duty rate will be 8.8 cents per kilogram. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
