Dear Ms. Minnelli: In your letter dated November 17, 2009, you requested a tariff classification ruling for a woman’s top. The submitted sample, Style #25336, is a woman’s top constructed from 100% cotton knit fabric. The garment extends below the waist and features a scoop neckline in front, open-work design down the center of the back, and a hemmed bottom. The garment provides bust coverage, but no shoulder or back coverage. We are returning your sample as you requested. The applicable subheading for Style 25336 will be 6114.20.0010, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other garments, knitted or crocheted of cotton, other, women’s. The rate of duty will be 10.8% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
