However, the National Import Specialist who handles watches, clocks, timers and time switches does not agree with your proposed classification because heading 9114, HTSUS, does not cover parts of timers or time switches. There is no provision for parts of timers or time switches in chapter 91, HTSUS. Therefore, the timer trippers are classified under heading 7326, HTSUS, which provides for other articles of iron or steel.

The merchandise is a package of replacement timer trippers made of steel. The trippers are used on a mechanical timer dial to turn the timer on and off. Included in the package are two silver-toned trippers that turn a timer on, two gold-toned trippers that turn a timer off, and four screws that attach the trippers to the dial. In your letter, you proposed classification for the timer replacement trippers under subheading 9114.40.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other clock or watch parts, other, other.
