The subject product, Doripenem, is an injectable synthetic broad-spectrum carbapenem antibiotic structurally related to beta-lactam antibiotics. It is indicated for the treatment of complicated intra-abdominal infections and complicated urinary tract infections, including pyelonephritis. The applicable subheading for the Doripenem in bulk form will be 2941.90.5000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Antibiotics: Other: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.
