Inwood, NY 11096 RE: The tariff classification of a gas piston from China or Taiwan Dear Mr. McGeary: In your letter dated July 27, 2009, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of Kason Industries Inc. The merchandise under consideration is a gas piston made of steel, part number 1094-316. It is designed to be used in a “1094 Sure Close Hydraulic Door Closer,” which controls the closing speed and snubbing of doors used on commercial refrigeration units. The piston functions to control the movement of the hinged roller against the hook plate.
