Product description

The item under consideration is the Tailgate Handle Assembly (Part # 74810-SZA-A01ZA); it consists of a two-piece, propeller-shaped, injection-molded, color-coded, plastic door handle with an integrated push-button switch. A wiring harness with connectors is attached to the switch. Also included in the assembly are a plastic garnish and a plastic clip which are used in the installation of the handle. The push-button switch is installed in the forward facing portion of the handle and serves to activate the tailgate latch (i.e., release the tailgate latch from its striker) only when the tailgate latch is unlocked. In operation, the user reaches through the opening between the mounted handle and the tailgate to access the forward facing side of the handle and pushes the button to release the latch. The rear tailgate pops open slightly and the user then pulls up on the handle to open the tailgate completely in order to access the rear cargo area of the vehicle. The switch performs no other function than as described above.
