Dear Ms. Cheng: In your letter dated November 28, 2008, written on behalf of your client, Oriental Exports, you requested a classification ruling. The samples you submitted will be returned as you requested. You have submitted three samples of string knit gloves. No style numbers were provided. You state that all three gloves are constructed of 60% cotton and 40% polyester knit fabric. The gloves feature a ribbed knit wrist with an overlock stitch finish at the bottom opening. The applicable subheading for the gloves will be 6116.92.8800, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for gloves, mittens and mitts, knitted or crocheted: other: of cotton: other: other: without fourchettes. The duty rate will be 9.4% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The gloves falls within textile category 331.
