The item you will be importing, identified as a “Furoshiki,” is a multiple purpose textile furnishing. Samples were examined on previous submission. It will be made from either 100 percent cotton, 100 percent polyester or 100 percent rayon woven fabric. The “Furoshiki” will be available in various sizes ranging from 35 x 35 centimeters up to 230 x 230 centimeters. It has multiple uses that include a napkin, tablecloth, wall décor, gift wrapping and scarves. The applicable subheading for a cotton “Furoshiki” will be 6304.92.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other furnishing articles, excluding those of heading 9404: other: not knitted or crocheted, of cotton. The general duty rate will be 6.3 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for the polyester “Furoshiki” will be 6304.93.0000, HTSUS, which provides for other furnishing articles, excluding those of heading 9404: other: not knitted or crocheted, of synthetic fibers. The duty rate will be 9.3 percent ad valorem. The applicable for the rayon “Furoshiki” will be 6304.99.6020, HTSUS, which provide for other furnishing articles, excluding those of heading 9404: other: other: other… of artificial fibers. The rate of duty will be 3.2 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The “Furoshiki” made from either polyester or rayon falls within textile category 666.
