Dear Ms. Parker: In your letter dated August 28, 2008, you requested a classification ruling. The submitted sample, Style #PP 1080473, is a woman’s robe constructed from 100% cotton knit fabric. The garment extends to the knee and features a full front opening with a self-fabric tie at the waist, ¾ length sleeves, and a hemmed bottom. The applicable subheading for the robe, Style PP 1080473, will be 6108.91.0030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s knit…pajamas and similar articles of cotton, other, women's. The rate of duty will be 8.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The robe, Style PP 1080473, falls within the textile category designation 350. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries.
