The items subjected to this ruling are diamond coils for a motor stator. The coils contain approximately 55 lbs of copper wire which is insulated using a combination of mica and epoxy resin, and graphite tape. The overall size of each coil is 55 inches in length by 13 inches in height. The coils have a rating of 13.8 kilovolts. The diamond coils will be installed in an 8100 HP (horsepower) motor stator. The applicable subheading for the coils will be 8503.00.9520, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Parts suitable for use solely or principally with the machines of heading 8501 or 8052: Other: Other: Parts of motors.” The rate of duty will be 3%. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
