Dear Mr. Skaaning: In your letter dated May 29, 2008, on behalf of Asian Investments LLC, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Photographs and written description have been submitted for a steel banner stand intended to be used at trade shows and other public events. The stand is made of powder-coated steel and designed to stand on the floor. A printed banner can be displayed using the stand for decoration, advertising or direction purposes. The applicable subheading for the banner stand will be 9403.20.0030, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Other furniture and parts thereof: Other metal furniture, Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be Free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/.
