Dear Ms. Wong: In your letter dated May 8, 2008, you requested a classification ruling. The submitted samples will be returned to you. You have submitted a sample of children’s gloves, style #HGT50204 constructed of 100% polyester woven satin fabric. The gloves feature fourchettes, and an extended cuff with gathered fabric at the side seams. The applicable subheading for style #HGT50204 will be 6216.00.5820, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for gloves, mittens and mitts: other: of man-made fibers: other: with fourchettes. The duty rate will be 20.7 cents per kilogram plus 10.4% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. The gloves fall within textile category 631. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries.
