Box 3165 Harrisburg, PA 17105 RE: The tariff classification of erasers from China. Dear Ms. Aldinger: In your letter dated April 17, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Three sample packages of erasers were provided with your letter. All the erasers are said to be composed of plastics. Item 27525 consists of two pink erasers in a blister pack. The erasers measure one inch by two inches. Item 27524 consists of two “combo erasers” in a blister pack. The combo erasers measure one inch by two inches and are half white and half gray. Item 27523 consists of 15 cap erasers in a blister pack. The erasers are of various colors and are designed to be placed on a pencil. The three styles form configuration #9002350. The applicable subheading for the erasers will be 3926.10.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other articles of plastics...office or school supplies. The rate of duty will be 5.3 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
