The tariff classification of women’s pajamas from China

The submitted sample will be returned as requested. PP 1065645 is a pair of women’s pajamas constructed from 100 percent polyester woven fabric. The upper garment features a ruffled V-neckline with a self-fabric tie, adjustable spaghetti shoulder straps, side vents and embroidery and beading on the bodice. The top back edge is cut straight across from side seam to side seam. The pajama bottom features an elasticized waist and long hemmed legs. Based upon the information provided and the appearance of the garments, this item is considered sleepwear. The applicable subheading for the PP 1065645 will be 6208.22.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls’ singlets and other undershirts, slips, petticoats, briefs, panties, nightdresses, pajamas, negligees, bathrobes, dressing gowns and similar articles: nightdresses and pajamas: of man-made fibers. The duty rate will be 16 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. With the exception of certain products of China, quota/visa requirements are no longer applicable for merchandise which is the product of World Trade Organization (WTO) member countries. The textile category number above applies to merchandise produced in non-WTO member-countries. Quota and visa requirements are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
