Dear Ms. Collins: In your letter dated February 4, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample which you submitted is being returned as requested. The submitted item is referred to as Sigrid Olsen Jewelry Design number MCB01-SLV. It is a set of six base metal bangles meant to be worn together. The bangles incorporate faux jewels and beads of freshwater pearl, glass and plastic. The applicable subheading for the bangle and bracelet set will be 7116.10.2500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Articles of natural or cultured pearls, precious or semiprecious stones (natural, synthetic or reconstructed): Of natural or cultured pearls: Cultured.” The rate of duty will be 5.5% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
