Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of a candleholder from India. Dear Ms. Ramsey: In your letter dated February 5, 2008, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise under consideration is the Beaded Stars Tea Light Holder, item number 65160. A sample was submitted with your ruling request and will be returned to you. It consists of a ring-shaped iron wire frame base approximately 4 inches in diameter, which supports a fitted metal socket specifically designed to hold a tea light or votive candle. Attached to the ring are two star-shaped wire frames measuring approximately 2 inches and 4.5 inches in height. Each star-shaped wire frame features a wire mesh sporting glass beads. The applicable subheading for the Beaded Stars Tea Light Holder, item number 65160, will be 9405.50.4000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Lamps and lighting fittings…Non-electrical lamps and lighting fittings: Other: Other.” The general rate of duty will be 6 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
