Dear Mr. Lee: In your letter, dated December 27, 2007, on behalf of Daewoo International (America) Corporation, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The product to be imported is flat-rolled, cold-rolled alloy steel in coil form. These coils measure .0472 inches in thickness and 44.89 inches in width and will ultimately be used in the automotive industry. The applicable subheading for the steel coils will be 7225.50.8085, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for flat-rolled products of other alloy steel, of a width of 600 mm or more, other, not further worked than cold-rolled (cold-reduced), other, of a thickness of less than 4.75 mm, other, other, other. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
