The coat has shoulder pads, ¾-length hemmed sleeves, a 3-inch wide tab with an oversized sewn-on button on the lower portion of the sleeves, two front slash pockets at the waist and two pleats on the rear panel. The lower portion of the garment flares in an A-shape to the bottom hem. The sample is being returned to you as you have requested.

Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19112-1404 RE: The tariff classification of a woman’s coat from China Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated December 20, 2007, on behalf of Revue LLC, you requested a classification ruling. The sample submitted, style number 810246, is a woman’s lower hip-length swing-style short coat that has a shell composed of a woven 100% cotton fabric with what appears to be a printed surface with a simulated brush stroke pattern. The coat has a fold-down pointed collar and a full front opening secured by four right-over-left, oversized button closures. The coat has shoulder pads, ¾-length hemmed sleeves, a 3-inch wide tab with an oversized sewn-on button on the lower portion of the sleeves, two front slash pockets at the waist and two pleats on the rear panel. The lower portion of the garment flares in an A-shape to the bottom hem. The sample is being returned to you as you have requested. The applicable subheading for the coat will be 6202.12.2050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for Other women’s overcoats, carcoats, capes, cloaks and similar coats: of cotton: other: other. The duty rate will be 8.9 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
