Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of women’s dresses from India Dear Ms. Ramsey: In your letter dated July 27, 2007, you requested a classification ruling. The submitted samples are women’s dresses constructed from 100 percent cotton woven fabric. Style 58272 is sleeveless and features a round neckline, a high waist and a full front opening secured by 10 buttons. Style 58260 is a sleeveless pullover dress that features a round neckline and a full body. The applicable subheading for both styles will be 6204.42.3050, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for women’s or girls’ suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, dresses, skirts, divided skirts, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear): dresses: of cotton: other: other: other: women’s. The duty rate will be 8.4 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
