In use, insects are attracted by the unit’s fluorescent lighting. They enter the trap through an opening located on top of the unit. Once inside, the insects are trapped on the adhesive PET film.

Dear Mr. McManus: In your letter dated May 17, 2007, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your related affiliate ITOCHU Plastics Inc. The item concerned is an “insect pole trap”. This device is comprised of a steel frame housing, a fluorescent lamp fixture and PET film. The PET film is coated on one side with a synthetic rubber adhesive. The PET film is installed in the unit with the adhesive coating facing the inside of the device. The PET film is removable and replaceable.
