Dear Ms. Greener: In your letter dated May, 15 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your sample will be returned as requested. The merchandise under consideration is item number 016-3221, a bracelet made of silver-plated base metal, eight inches in length. It is a series of loops linked together by smaller, connecting loops. The cost of the bracelet is $8.00 each. The applicable subheading for the bracelet will be 7117.19.9000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Imitation jewelry: Of base metal, whether or not plated with precious metal: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be 11% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
