Dear Ms. Greener: In your letter dated May, 15 2007 you requested a tariff classification ruling. Your sample will be returned as requested. The merchandise under consideration is item number 016-3221, a bracelet made of silver-plated base metal, eight inches in length. It is a series of loops linked together by smaller, connecting loops. The cost of the bracelet is $8.00 each. The applicable subheading for the bracelet will be 7117.19.9000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for “Imitation jewelry: Of base metal, whether or not plated with precious metal: Other: Other.” The rate of duty will be 11% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
