Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of tile covers from China Dear Ms. Ramsey: In your letter dated October 10, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample you submitted is described as “Set/10 ‘Rooster’ Wall Tile Covers,” item number 57800. The package includes ten base metal squares, each decorated with a rooster design, and double-sided tape to facilitate mounting. Each tile measures approximately 4-1/2 inches square. Your letter indicates that they are made of tin, however, since they attract a magnet, we presume them to be made of steel. As per the documentation you provided, these tile covers are used to decorate plain, discolored or damaged tiles.
