Regenerated cellulose is considered an artificial fiber. Style 50743 features a rib knit crew neckline; short, hemmed sleeves; and a straight, hemmed bottom. The fabric weight is more than 200 grams per square meter.

Dear Ms. Araki: In your letter dated September 5, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, All About Bamboo. Your response was delayed due to laboratory analysis. ` Style 50743 is a men’s pullover garment constructed from jersey knit fabric that measures 22 stitches per 2 centimeters counted in the horizontal direction. Although the fiber content is stated as 70% bamboo, 30% cotton, laboratory analysis has found that the fiber content is 72.6% regenerated cellulose, 27.4% cotton. Regenerated cellulose is considered an artificial fiber. Style 50743 features a rib knit crew neckline; short, hemmed sleeves; and a straight, hemmed bottom. The fabric weight is more than 200 grams per square meter. The applicable subheading for Style 50743 will be 6110.30.3053, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for: sweaters, pullovers, sweatshirts, waistcoats (vests) and similar articles, knitted or crocheted: of man-made fibers: other: other: other: other: men’s or boy’s: other. The rate of duty is 32% ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
