Studio Park 1200 Wilson Drive West Chester, PA 19380-4262 RE: The tariff classification of a sweater-wrap for ladies’ wear from China Dear Ms. Purcell: In your letter dated April 24, 2006 you requested a classification ruling. Each of the fronts of the long-sleeved, cardigan-styled, submitted garment A2500, manufactured from knitted pointelle fabric that measures less than nine stitches per two centimeters, extends at its lower edge in order to wrap around and fasten together in order to secure the full-front opening of the garment. As you have requested, the sample garment is being returned. The applicable subheading for style A2500 will be 6110.20.2020, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for sweaters…of cotton, other, other, sweaters, women’s. The duty rate will be 16.5 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This garment falls within textile category designation 345. Quota and visa status are the result of international agreements that are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes.
