Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19112-1404 RE: The tariff classification of textile-covered cardboard boxes from China Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated April 18, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of your client, Etoys Direct, Inc., of Denver, Colorado. The submitted samples are two lidded boxes that measure approximately 14”L x 9”W x 4½”H and 12”L x 7 ½”W x 4”H. They are constructed of textile-covered cardboard. The lids are decorated with green textile fabric ribbons. You state that the boxes are intended for storage of keepsakes such as pictures, trinkets, and sentimental items. The applicable subheading for the textile covered cardboard boxes will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for other made up textile articles, other. The rate of duty will be 7 percent ad valorem. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change.
