Box 1199 Williston, VT 05495 RE: The tariff classification of an oven rack from Taiwan Dear Ms. Marcoux: In your letter dated February 10, 2006, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The merchandise is an adjustable, iron wire, oven rack designed to provide additional baking space in gas or electric ovens (item number 53800). The rack can extend from 13.75 to 24 inches long. Four screws are included for adjusting the size of the oven rack. The applicable subheading for the oven rack will be 8516.90.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS), which provides for parts for the cooking stoves, ranges and ovens of subheading 8516.60.40, other. The rate of duty will be free. Duty rates are provided for your convenience and are subject to change. The text of the most recent HTSUS and the accompanying duty rates are provided on the World Wide Web at http://www.usitc.gov/tata/hts/. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
