C-3 Hook Creek Blvd. & 145th Avenue Valley Stream, NY 11581 RE: The tariff classification of metal halide lamps from China. Dear Ms. Mauceri: In your letter dated April 22, 2005, on behalf of Eele Labs, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject merchandise, based on the submitted samples, consists of the following metal halide lamps (light bulbs): two compact metal halide lamps; a low-power metal halide lamp; a metal halide PAR lamp; and a pulse start metal halide lamp. The applicable subheading for these metal halide lamps will be 8539.32.0090, HTS, which provides for Electrical filament or discharge lamps…Discharge lamps, other than ultraviolet lamps: Mercury or sodium vapor lamps; metal halide lamps…. Other than mercury or sodium vapor lamps. The rate of duty will be 2.4 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
