The subject product, Glycine benzylester tosylate, also known as Benzyl glycinate p-toluenesulfonic acid salt, is an aromatic amino acid indicated for use as a pharmaceutical intermediate. The subject product, 3,5-Di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl propionic acid, also known as Benzenepropanoic acid, 3,5-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-hydroxy-, is an aromatic carboxylic acid with a phenol function indicated for use as an intermediate. The applicable subheading for 3,5-Di-tert-butyl-4-hydroxyphenyl propionic acid will be 2918.29.7500, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for carboxylic acids with phenol function but without other oxygen function, their anhydrides, halides, peroxides, peroxyacids and their derivatives: Other: Other: Other….. The rate of duty will be 6.5 percent ad valorem.
