Dear Ms. Nara: In your letter dated June 22, 2004, you requested a ruling on tariff classification. The merchandise is a superheated steam oven for domestic use, Model AX-700S. The Sharp Water Oven is used to cook food in a manner similar to conventional ovens, but with the assistance of superheated steam. The superheated steam is forced into the top of the oven cavity. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R.).
