The tariff classification of an Electronic Pressure Transducer
Issued May 7, 2004 by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Tariff classification
HTS codes: 9026.20.4000
Headings: 9026
Product description
You submitted sheets for four items, NT Single Port Transducer - 4100, NT Vacuum Transducer -4150-4250, NT Flow Through Transducer - 4210, NT DI Water Transducer - 4130-4230. We assume the duplicate sheet for only the 4150-4250 is a clerical error. Each is described as having a body and connectors to attach them to the fluid source and measure its pressure with one percent accuracy via an electrical output directly proportional to the pressure measured. From the information in the Product Data Sheet for the 4100 which you faxed to our office on April 29, we take it that in all four, “standard electronic outputs enable easy integration with PLCs, control system and electronic displays”.
CBP rationale
The applicable subheading for these four items will be 9026.20.40000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for instruments or appliances for measuring or checking pressure.
