Box 3165 Harrisburg, PA 17105 RE: The tariff classification of a sleeping bag from China Dear Ms. Aldinger: In your letter dated February 9, 2004, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted sample, identified as Item #935295 (“Sleeping Bag Polyester”), is a sleeping bag that measures 72” x 29”. It has polyester fabric on the outside, polyester fiber stuffing, and a plastic zipper along the side and bottom. You indicate that this item will be imported in two styles: blue with the word “Angel” printed on it or pink with the word “Princess” printed on it. It is packaged in a see-through plastic carrying case. The applicable subheading for the sleeping bag will be 9404.30.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for sleeping bags: Other. The rate of duty will be 9 percent ad valorem. The sample will be returned. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
