Susan Lyons Pier 1 Imports 301 Commerce Street Suite 600 Fort Worth, TX 76102 RE: The tariff classification of a “Sun Mirror Sun Catcher” from India Dear Ms. Lyons: In your letter, dated November 3, 2003, you requested a tariff classification ruling regarding a sun catcher from India. A sample was submitted with your ruling request. In accordance with your request, the sample will be returned to you. The product is a decorative hanging sun reflector. It consists of a string of glass mirrors designed to reflect the sun and plastic beads attached to an iron sun face. You stated that the value of this article is under thirty cents but not over three dollars. The applicable subheading for the sun catcher will be 7013.99.5000, HTS, which provides for glassware of a kind used for table, kitchen, toilet, office, indoor decoration or similar purposes…other glassware: other: other: other: valued over thirty cents but not over three dollars each. The rate of duty will be 30 percent ad valorem. The rate of duty in 2004 will also be 30 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
