Box 10158 Bedford, NH 03110-0158 RE: The tariff classification of the Swing Hat from China and Macau Dear Mr. Lord: In your letter dated June 3, 2003, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You are requesting the tariff classification on a product that is described as a Swing Hat, a training device used in the sport of golf. The golfer would utilize the Swing Hat to improve his/her swing. This end (swing training) is accomplished through the use of the ear-piece and the electronics. The Swing Hat sets a tempo for the golfer to match and it will also provide feedback when the golfer’s head moves into the incorrect position. The correct classification will be in Chapter 95 of the HTS as other golf equipment.
