Dear Ms. Daugherty: In your letter dated March 24, 2003, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample is being returned as requested. The sample submitted is a golf cart cover with a carry bag. It is constructed of nonwoven textile panels and clear plastic material panels. The panels are sewn together to create the cover which serves as a rain shield for a motorized golf cart, while the cart is in use. The cover is draped over the golf cart and is fastened to the cart with textile straps that fit around the article. When not in use it is stored in the drawstring carry bag. The applicable subheading for the golf cart cover will be 6307.90.9889, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other made up articles . . . Other. The rate of duty will be 7 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
