Box 3111 Burbank, CA 91508-3111 RE: The tariff classification of bullets for rifles or pistols from Russia. Dear Mr. Kessler: In your letter dated March 25, 2003, you requested a tariff classification ruling. You are requesting the tariff classification on bullets that are actually parts of cartridges used in rifles or pistols. The item #’s for the bullets are as follows: Y2255HP, Y2262HP, Y2262SP, Y2262FM, Y762HP, Y762SP and Y762FM. The correct classification will be in Chapter 93 as parts of cartridges for rifles or pistols. You have not enclosed samples but have included details of the merchandise, instead. The applicable subheading for the bullets, parts of rifle/pistol cartridges, will be 9306.30.8000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other cartridges and parts thereof: other. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
