Mullins ATE Logistics Company (Georgia) 510 Plaza Drive, Ste. 2290 Atlanta, GA 30349 RE: The tariff classification of the Scout Kit from China. Dear Ms. Mullins: In your letter dated August 14, 2002, on behalf of the Crown Marketing Group, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The subject merchandise, based on the submitted information, is the Scout Kit (item number 321008A) that consists of the following articles: a plastic flashlight; a combination article composed of a compass, thermometer and whistle; and a multipurpose tool containing a spoon and fork as well as a can opener and a folding knife blade, all included in a fitted nylon carrying case. The applicable subheading for the flashlight will be 8513.10.2000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for portable electric lamps designed to function by their own source of energy…lamps: flashlights.
