Sorbic acid and Potassium sorbate are unsaturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids. Fumaric acid, derived from benzene-maleic acid, is an acyclic polycarboxylic acid. The applicable subheading for Potassium sorbate, also known as 2,4-Hexadienoic acid, potassium salt, will be 2916.19.1000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Unsaturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids, their anhydrides, halides, peroxides, peroxyacids and their derivatives: Other: Potassium sorbate….. The rate of duty will be 3.1 percent ad valorem. The applicable subheading for Sorbic acid, also known as 2,4-Hexadienoic acid, (2E,4E)-, will be 2916.19.2000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Unsaturated acyclic monocarboxylic acids, their anhydrides, halides, peroxides, peroxyacids and their derivatives: Other: Sorbic acid…..
