Hoffacker Barthco Trade Consultants Inc. 7575 Holstein Avenue Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19153 RE: The tariff classification of Girls’ 100% Cotton Woven Shorts from Pakistan Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated May 29, 2001, you requested a tariff classification ruling on behalf of A. Lakhany International Inc., 3670 Westchase Drive, Houston, Texas 77042. The sample submitted, Style 7967, is a Girls’ 100% Cotton Woven Short Pant. This loose cut short pant features a full elastic waistband. The woven fabric is printed with a flower design. You state the short pant will be imported in Girls’ Size Range 4-7. The sample will be returned to you as requested. . The applicable subheading for the Girls’ 100% Cotton Woven Short Pant will be 6204.62.4065, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for Women’s or girls’ suits, ensembles, suit-type jackets, blazers, dresses, skirts, divided skirts, trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts (other than swimwear): Trousers, bib and brace overalls, breeches and shorts: Of cotton: Other: Other: Other: Shorts: Girls: Other. The rate of duty will be 16.9%. The Girls’ 100% Cotton Woven Short Pant falls within textile category designation 348. Based upon international textile trade agreements, products of Pakistan are subject to quota and the requirement of a visa.
