The merchandise is a number of well caps of either nonmalleable cast iron or aluminum. The caps are used to close off the top of the well casing to prevent foreign matter from entering the well. The applicable subheading for the well caps of nonmalleable cast iron will be 7325.10.0080, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other cast articles of iron or steel, of nonmalleable cast iron, other. The rate of duty will be free. The applicable subheading for the aluminum well caps will be 7616.99.5060, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for other articles of aluminum, other, other. The general rate of duty will be 2.5 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
