Hoffacker Barthco Trade Consultants, Inc. 7575 Holstein Avenue Philadelphia, PA 19153 RE: The tariff classification of a printed circuit board from Hong Kong Dear Mr. Hoffacker: In your letter dated December 20, 2000, on behalf of Millworks Trading Company, you requested a tariff classification ruling. As indicated by the submitted sample, the printed circuit board measures approximately 4 ½ inches long and 1 ½ inches wide and contains a switch, two battery contacts, an IC chip and a plastic housing with motorized gear wheels. This board is used in a “Capti-View” display and allows the display to alternate the images shown on the screen. The applicable subheading for the printed circuit board will be 8543.90.8880, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for parts of electrical machines and apparatus, having individual functions, not specified or included elsewhere in Chapter 85, HTS: Other: Other: Other. The rate of duty will be 2.6 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
