Box 63211 Philadelphia, PA 19114 RE: The tariff classification of hat linings from Pakistan. Dear Mr. Ahmad: In your letter dated November 7, 2000, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted samples are two hat linings constructed of knit textile fabric. Both linings are made of two pieces of fabric that have been cut to shape and sewn together to create a hood- shaped lining. The edges of both linings are overlock stitched. One hat lining is plain dyed and the other is striped. The applicable subheading for the hat linings will be 6507.00.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for “Headbands, linings, covers, hat foundations, hat frames, peaks (visors) and chinstraps, for headgear.” The rate of duty will be Free. The are no quota restrictions or visa requirements on this merchandise. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177). A copy of the ruling or the control number indicated above should be provided with the entry documents filed at the time this merchandise is imported.
