Lauderdale, FL 33302 RE: The tariff classification of cocktail decorations from China Dear Ms. Liu: In your letter dated August 21, 2000, received in this office on August 28, 2000, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The submitted product, item #C3811228, is referred to as a 12 piece pack of decorative cocktail umbrellas. The folding umbrellas measure approximately 4” in length and are made of wood and printed paper. They are packaged in groups of 12 per blister card. The umbrellas are intended for use at parties as a decoration in mixed drinks or appetizers. The applicable subheading for the cocktail umbrella’s, item #C3811228, will be 9505.90.4000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for festive, carnival or other entertainment articles: confetti, paper spirals or streamers, party favors and noisemakers; parts and accessories thereof. The rate of duty will be free. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
