Each sample measures approximately 10 x 7 x 6 inches. One sample has an outer surface of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the other appears to be comprised of manmade textile fabric. Style no. 985 measures approximately 11 x 7 x 52 inches. Style no. 804n measures approximately 82 x 8 x 5 inches. Each style has a secured top, secured exterior compartments and a textile carrying strap. The interior is padded to protect the contents. The outer surface of four of the camera cases is of embossed PVC plastic sheeting. Your samples are herein returned.

Five samples were submitted for our examination. The submitted samples are cases for a video camera. Style no. 9632 measures approximately 10 x 7 x 7 inches. Two samples of style no. 9607 were submitted. Each sample measures approximately 10 x 7 x 6 inches. One sample has an outer surface of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), the other appears to be comprised of manmade textile fabric. Style no. 985 measures approximately 11 x 7 x 52 inches. Style no. 804n measures approximately 82 x 8 x 5 inches. Each style has a secured top, secured exterior compartments and a textile carrying strap. The interior is padded to protect the contents. The outer surface of four of the camera cases is of embossed PVC plastic sheeting. Your samples are herein returned. The applicable subheading for style 9607 with an outer surface of manmade fibers will be 4202.90.9026, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for: Trunks, suitcases, camera cases and similar containers: Other: Other: With outer surface of sheeting of plastic or of textile material: Other: Other: Of manmade fibers. The rate of duty will be 18.8% ad valorem. Item number 4202.90.9026 falls within textile category designation 670. Based upon international textile trade agreements, products of China are subject to quota and the requirement of a visa. The applicable subheading for styles 9632, 9607 (with an outer surface PVC), 985 and 804N will be 4202.90.9060, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for: Trunks, suitcases, camera cases and similar containers: Other: With outer surface of sheeting of plastic: Other. The rate of duty will be 18.8% ad valorem. The designated textile and apparel categories may be subdivided into parts. If so, visa and quota requirements applicable to the subject merchandise may be affected. Part categories are the result of international bilateral agreements which are subject to frequent renegotiations and changes. To obtain the most current information available, we suggest that you check, close to the time of shipment, the Status Report on Current Import Quotas (Restraint Levels), an internal issuance of the U.S. Customs Service, which is available for inspection at your local Customs office. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
