Box 970 Tecate, CA 91980 RE: The tariff classification of raft fittings from Taiwan Dear Mr. Gomez: In your letter dated March 17, 1999, on behalf of Northwest River Supplies, Inc., you requested a tariff classification ruling. The sample you submitted is a fitting for a river raft. The fitting consists of a stainless steel D-ring, 2 1/2 inches [7 cm] in diameter, permanently secured to a rubber/textile patch, 6 inches [15.5 cm] in diameter. The fittings will be glued to the raft as tie-down points. You also request the classification of a variety of accessories. Your inquiry does not provide enough information for us to give a classification ruling on such general classes of merchandise. Your request for a classification ruling should include information on each item such as you have provided for this one.
