Dear Ms. Quinn: In your letter dated August 26, 1998, on behalf of Baldwin Hardware, you requested a tariff classification ruling. Three samples were provided with your letter: a soap dish, a cup and toothbrush holder and a shelf. All are composed of acrylic plastic, and are designed to be permanently affixed to a wall. The shelf is approximately 24 inches in length by 3 3/4 inches in width, and is suitable for storing toilet articles. You did not mention the country of origin in your letter. The rate of duty provided below is the Column I rate that applies to countries with which the United States has Normal Trade Relations. The applicable subheading for the soap dish, cup and toothbrush holder and the shelf will be 3925.90.0000, Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTS), which provides for builders' ware of plastics, not elsewhere specified or included, other. The rate of duty will be 5.3 percent ad valorem. This ruling is being issued under the provisions of Part 177 of the Customs Regulations (19 C.F.R. 177).
