Dear Mr. McGiffin: In your letter dated July 23, 1998, on behalf of Mercury Luggage Manufacturing Company, Jacksonville, Florida, you requested a tariff classification ruling. The shipper is Meriton International Corporation, Taiwan. Two representative samples were submitted. The first item, identified as #079-067-3, consists of a jacquard woven fabric containing a floral design that is stated to be composed of a 55% jute/45% polyester man-made fiber blend. This fabric has been coated/laminated on its posterior surface with a compact polyvinyl chloride plastics material which has been diamond embossed.
